Who

Pak-Kin (PK) & Kim TSE

Thomas Carlyle, an esteemed turn-of-the-century British journalist defined success as “the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal”.

This is certainly the case in PK’s life, both before and after he became a Christian. Of course, before PK became a Christian, the ideal he had was not necessarily a worthy one.

PK was born in Hong Kong in 1948. In those days Hong Kong was not as prosperous as it is today. Very few people owned cars, not to mention expensive ones. Like many people at that time, he was born into a poor family. Our family of eight shared a 1000 sq.ft. flat with two other sizeable families. Ever since PK was a little child, he dreamt of having my own house when he grew up. PK also thought that money was the most important thing in life; thus making money became the goal of his life.

PK had always been a hardworking student since young and he managed to get good results in his studies. By the time he turned 21 (1969), he had graduated as one of the top students from his technical college and was sent to the UK to train as a structural engineer. At the age of 23 (1971) PK passed the Chartered Engineer’s Exam, and at the age of 25 (1973) he was elected a Professional Engineer. Then PK went on to do a part-time MSc degree course while working to gain more professional experience. This was when PK met a beautiful girl named Kim from Malaysia whom he subsequently married at the age of 28 (1976). Soon after they got married they went back to Hong Kong to start a family and a career.

PK’s career had a very good start. By the time he turned 34 (1982), he was already an senior manager of one of the top Consulting Engineering firms in Hong Kong. By then, he had his own house, a nice car, a wonderful wife and two lovely sons. His childhood dream had been realised but he was not particularly satisfied with life.

PK thought that he would be happier if he had more money, so he started speculating in properties and investing in high- risk financial markets. When his investments turned out unsuccessfully, he became even more miserable. PK then became more and more selfish, turning his attention to things that gave me pleasure, including playing golf. But all these things failed to give him lasting joy and peace.

A Call to Salvation

In 1990, Kim started going to church with their two sons after her sister shared the Good News of Jesus Christ with her. PK was very supportive of her new-found past-time, but he made it clear that it was not for him. PK continued to spend his weekends with his friends at the golf club. His wife must have been praying for him, because one Sunday in late 1990, PK agreed to go to church with his family and then within the next several months decided to follow Jesus. On Easter Sunday 1991, the whole family was baptised in water. This was the start of Stage One of PK’s Christian walk (A Call to Salvation). However for the subsequent year and a half, PK remained only a Sunday pew warmer and had no vital relationship with God.

A turning point in PK’s Christian walk occurred when he was baptised in the Holy Spirit in late 1992. He was filled with great joy that evening and he hardly slept. PK started to have a hunger to worship God and to learn from the Word of God.

A Call to Serving

In September 1993, PK attended a major Christian conference in Hong Kong. At the conference he was captivated by the preaching of a guest speaker from Thailand. Soon after talking to him, PK joined the Hope church in Hong Kong and started Stage Two of his Christian walk (A Call to Serving).

In everything that he undertook in the service of God’s temple
and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his
God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.
[2 Chronicles 31:21]

After PK joined the Hope Movement in October 1993, he developed a great thirst for God’s Word. He started attending all of the quarterly Leaders Conference on Building Biblical Churches. This helped PK to lay a good foundation in the Word of God. Coupled with serving in the church, he was able to grow very quickly in his spiritual maturity. Although PK was a Director in a very busy engineering consultant firm in Hong Kong, he was able to serve God fully because of good time management and because he saw the value of serving the King of kings and Lord of lords.

You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the
world…. let your light shine before men, that they
may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
[Matthew 5:13-16]

A Call to Sacrifice

As PK became more and more involved with the church in Hong Kong, he began to find it increasingly difficult to work for the company full time as a Main Board Director. After much prayer, he resigned from the Directorship in March 1997 and started his own consulting firm. This started Stage 3 of PK’s Christian Walk (A Call to Sacrifice).

"I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields-and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.
[Mark 10:29-30]

Although PK was no longer on a fat pay cheque every month, he was making a reasonably good of income, and working fewer hours with much greater flexibility. In fact, he did not even have to look for work. All his jobs were brought to him through two friends whom he got to know 20 years ago. God works in amazing ways [Isaiah 55:8]! In 1998, God called PK (and Kim) to church planting in Europe.

Hope Europe – A Brief Summary

The first Hope church was started in London. A handful of people started with a home group in May 1998. The first formal church service was held in early August 1998, and 12 people attended the service.

Other churches started in other parts of Europe in 1999 and subsequent years. PK used his savings in the first 2 years of church planting in London. He continued to trust God in 4 areas – Protection, Provision, Prompting and Power on a daily basis. God has indeed been faithful in meeting PK’s needs in these 4 areas!

After 12 years of trusting God and lots of hard work, by 2010,
there were 4 Hope churches in the UK (totaling over 300
people) and a number of other Hope churches in 4 other
countries in Europe (totaling over 600 people).

BBC Ministries

In Feb., 2010, God opened a door for PK to return to Hong Kong to work as a Consultant for AECOM on the prestigious West Kowloon Terminus – Express Rail Link project in Hong Kong. God has somehow confirmed to PK to also minister in the marketplace.

By Sep., 2010, PK formally relinquished his role and responsibilities as Regional Pastor for Hope West Europe.

On 6th Nov., 2010, the BBC Ministries formally started. On the same day, PK was invited to attend a Freemason Dinner in Hong Kong, which he politely declined!

Between 2010 and 2015, besides ministering in Hong Kong, the BBC Ministries have taken PK to many cities in China, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Zhaoqing in the Guangdong Province; Wuzhou, Guiping and Guikong in the Guangxi Province; Shanghai City, Nantong in the Jiangsu Province and Yongchuan in the Chongqing Province. PK also had an opportunity to speak in a Christian Conference in Shillong, India and met a servant of God in Assam whom he continues to support.

Church of Zion

On 1st May, 2016, PK visited Church of Zion Sunday Service in Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. The sermon on the last of the 923 series. He was so moved by the message that decided to join the church.

The timing was perfect because a revival was about to start through the invention of the Zion Sword by Pastor LEUNG Yat Wah. The Wired 1st Generation Zion Sword has just been introduced to the church and members were encouraged to compare it with Ear Phones in the market.

The Zion Sword, made with a Titanium speaker, is able to reproduce the perfect sound of the studio. And one can now enjoyed “the full range” of all the Zion New Songs which have been written and composed by the church since 1998!

PK officially became a member of the church on 2016.0612.

The issue (free of charge to members) of the Bluetooth 1st Generation Zion Sword was made on the 26th June (6.26) to coincide with the 10th Anniversary of Sing Song Zion and PK was perfectly timed (by God) to receive it as a member!

4
Wired 2nd Generation [Given Free to Outsiders]        5   Bluetooth 1st Generation

Since then, the church purchased 12 of the most well-known and expensive ear phones in the market including SHURE KSE-1500 [HK$23,380] and Astell & Kern Layla II [HK$22,980] and arrangement was made for members to listen and compare with the Zion Sword. Because of their limitations, even the most expensive of this commercial ear phones are not able to reproduce the “full range” sound of the Zion New Songs!

The church then started the mass of production of Wired 2nd Generation earphones (about 10,000 a month) to give out to outsiders who appreciate the superb qualities of the Zion Sword.

With Zion Director of Music

In parallel, Perfect Zound seminars are organised monthly to invite guests to understand more about the Zion Sword.

We believe that the End-time revival will be through music and the timely introduction of the Zion Sword coupled with Zion New Songs is the perfect instrument to lead the revival!
